The quickest path through Season 15 isn't about locking yourself into one activity and grinding it until you're tired of it. War Plans are better used as a guide: pick up the early rewards, open the upgrades that matter, then spend most of your time where the XP feels steady. Helltides do a lot of the heavy lifting at first, with gear drops, cinders, and useful crafting resources coming along for the ride. You'll also replace weak Diablo 4 Items without stopping to run separate content, which is a big deal when your build is still coming together. The trick is knowing when an objective is worth the detour and when it's just slowing you down. Build Your Early Route Around War Plans Start by checking the War Plans objectives and doing the ones that fit naturally into your session. If one asks you to clear content you were going to run anyway, take the easy progress. If it sends you across the map for a small reward, leave it for later. A lot of players lose pace here because they treat every task like it has to be done right now. It doesn't. What matters most is opening progression nodes that improve later activities. Those nodes make your next few hours more productive, so the early effort pays off. Once you've picked up a useful set of upgrades, move into Helltides instead of staying stuck on errands. You'll get more enemies, more drops, and less empty travel time. Keep an eye out for War Plan tasks that overlap with Helltide events, though. Finishing two goals in one area is always better than riding between zones for no real reason. Use Helltides Without Getting Bogged Down In a Helltide, you don't need to clear every corner of the map. That's the easy mistake. Keep moving, clear dense packs, grab cinders, and open chests when you have enough. If an event is nearby and packed with monsters, it's usually worth doing. If you're chasing scattered enemies through an empty patch of ground, just move on. Early on, Helltides are great because they solve several problems at once. You gain levels, find replacement gear, collect materials, and get a feel for whether your build is short on damage or staying power. Later, when your Helltide upgrades are in place, Hellwyrms become worth targeting. The Writhe and Rot node helps these encounters bring out more enemies and better XP chances. Hellmouth can be useful too, especially if your character can handle tougher fights without burning through potions. Don't force Hellwyrms too soon, though. Before the supporting nodes are active, regular Helltide routing often feels smoother. Hold Undercity Runs Until Jade Epiphany Is Ready Kurast Undercity can be excellent, but it isn't the best answer the moment you unlock access. Before Jade Epiphany, it's usually smarter to move through the dungeon with purpose, finish what you need, and get back to your War Plans progress. Stopping to wipe out every group can feel busy without giving enough back. Jade Epiphany changes that. Once it's active, Attunement starts to matter much more. Killing enemies and using beacons raises your Attunement Level, and those levels can lead to stronger experience rewards at the end of the run. The beacon effects help as well. Extra movement speed, faster casting, or better resource recovery can make a character that felt clunky suddenly play much better. If you have Tribute of Growth, save it for runs where you're ready to make full use of it. These Tributes come from other higher-level activities and can raise the value of a completed Undercity run by a noticeable amount. It's better to enter prepared than to repeat low-value runs out of habit. Final Thoughts A solid Season 15 route has a simple rhythm: use War Plans for access and upgrades, lean on Helltides for the main stretch of leveling, then shift attention toward Hellwyrms and Kurast Undercity when your character is ready. Keep your gold for upgrades that actually change how the build performs. A small item-level bump isn't always worth the cost if you'll replace it ten minutes later. Players with the needed expansion content can get far more from this route, since War Plans and Kurast Undercity are tied to that content. For everyone else, Helltides still offer a dependable place to level and gather supplies. When you need to top up materials, it can also help to buy d4 mats so your time stays focused on improving the character rather than waiting on one missing resource.
